I am an Imperial College London Postdoctoral Researcher in the Computational Regulatory Genomics group at the Institute of Clinical Sciences.

I am working on evolution and extreme conservation of regulatory landscapes. In particular, I am focusing on human disease-risk-associated variation, and the lessons we can learn by putting these mutations in the context of genomic regulatory blocks – large regions of conserved synteny between e.g. human and fish, usually containing a gene involved in regulation of transcription during development, and all of the elements regulating it.

Before joining, I completed my PhD thesis “Structural analysis of single amino acid polymorphisms” at University College London, under Dr. Andrew Martin’s supervision. Previously, I obtained an equivalent of an MSc degree in Molecular Biology from Division of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
