I am post-doc at Imperial College London and a member of Prof. Boris Lenhard group at MRC Clinical Sciences Centre in London.
My current project involves disentangling early epigenetic events in developing vertebrate embryos. In a collaboration with Prof. Ferenc Müller at the University of Birmingham we aim to characterise zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in zebrafish (Danio rerio) in terms of promoter epigenetic state changes and the recruitment of transcription machinery, by modelling ATAC, ChIP sequencing and CAGE data from pre- and post-ZGA embryos.
During my PhD studies at the University of Basel under supervision of Prof. Erik van Nimwegen I developed a fully automated web tool for inferring transcriptional regulatory interactions in mammals (ISMARA) and did pioneering work on modelling noise in deep sequencing methods (paper here).
My pet project is implementation of the fastest BED file sorter. I am also taking care of the High Performance Computing infrastructure (a small GNU/Linux cluster) in Prof. Boris Lenhard group.
